Job Summary
To support member advocacy activities, the full-time Florida Licensed Ombudsman will investigate and resolve member grievances, uphold member rights, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the member experience in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate member issues and work towards fair resolutions while addressing systemic challenges in healthcare access
- Provide education on member rights and assist members in navigating the healthcare system, ensuring confidentiality and cultural sensitivity
- Document interactions and prepare reports to identify trends and propose improvements in member services
Required qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in a managed care environment, preferably in Medicaid
- Knowledge of state Medicaid policies and programs
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
- Proficiency in record-keeping and data management
