Job Summary
To support cancer data management, the part-time Florida Licensed Oncology Data Specialist will accurately report detailed information from electronic medical records into registry software, perform case finding and follow-up, and ensure compliance with data reporting standards in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform daily abstraction of cancer cases into the cancer registry database and maintain documentation of all records
- Run and resolve EDIT's prior to submission of cases to the State Central Registry and NCDB
- Process case finding, follow-up, and other registry duties while adhering to HIPAA and compliance standards
Required qualifications
- A minimum of three years of oncology data abstracting experience, with recent abstraction within the past year
- Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C) certification is required
- Knowledge of cancer management, medical terminology, and cancer registry procedures
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using standard office equipment and software applications
