Florida Licensed Oncology Data Specialist
Job Summary
To support oncology services, the part-time Florida Licensed Oncology Data Specialist will identify clinical discrepancies, track cancer patients longitudinally, and abstract patient data while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and escalate clinical variability or documentation discrepancies to leadership
- Track cancer patients throughout the continuum and maintain follow-up to meet regulatory deadlines
- Abstract and clinically code accurate patient data using appropriate cancer classification and coding systems
Required qualifications
- Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification
- 2+ years of cancer registry abstraction experience
- Strong understanding of complex medical conditions and surgical procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications
- Knowledge of various electronic medical records systems such as CRStar and Cerner
