Florida Licensed Oncology Data Specialist
Job Summary
To support a growing oncology practice, the part-time Florida Licensed Oncology Data Specialist will manage patient data abstraction, track cancer patients longitudinally, and ensure compliance with national guidelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Identifies and escalates clinical variability or documentation discrepancies to leadership for timely intervention
- Tracks cancer patients throughout the continuum to maintain follow-up and meet regulatory deadlines
- Abstracts and clinically codes accurate patient data using appropriate cancer classification and coding systems
Required qualifications
- Current Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification
- 2+ years of cancer registry abstraction experience
- Strong understanding of complex medical conditions and surgical procedures
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications
- Associate's degree in Healthcare or Health Information Management preferred
