Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Certification as a Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AHIMA
• One year of hospital-based outpatient coding experience
• Knowledge of coding classification systems and medical terminology
• Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
