Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Florida Licensed Outpatient Coder will abstract, code, and interpret clinical information from various medical records while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Abstract and code clinical information from inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department records, ensuring accurate sequencing of diagnoses and procedures
• Utilize coding principles and reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate codes and maintain compliance with external regulations
• Track productivity and maintain a quality rating of 95% or higher while adhering to company policies, including HIPAA compliance

Required qualifications

• Florida Licensed Outpatient Coder certification
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding
• Expert knowledge of NCCI/OCE billing edits and hospital CVIR coding and billing
• Familiarity with coding conventions established by AHIMA, AMA, AHA, and CMS
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines
