Florida Licensed Physician Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Florida Licensed Physician Coder will edit and review medical documentation, determine appropriate coding for services rendered, and maintain accurate electronic medical records in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Edit and review captured charges and medical documentation to assign appropriate codes and modifiers
• Communicate documentation discrepancies with coding support staff and assist with escalated coding questions
• Create patient charts and ensure accurate entry of demographics, insurance, and hospital charges into electronic medical records

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in physician-based coding for outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent coding certification
• Substantial knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifiers
• Familiarity with Microsoft software and electronic medical record systems
