Job Summary
To support utility and transmission clients nationwide, the fully remote contract-to-hire Florida Licensed Senior Electrical Engineer will oversee and execute the design of protection and control systems for medium to high-voltage substations, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring high-quality standards throughout project lifecycles.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and review the design of protection and control systems for substations (15kV-500kV)
- Develop detailed design packages including diagrams, schematics, and construction documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure project success
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited program
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 8+ years of experience in substation protection and controls design
- Proficiency in developing and reviewing high-voltage substation protection systems diagrams
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, NEC, and NESC
