Florida Licensed Senior Tax Accountant

Job Summary

Detail-oriented and experienced, the full-time Florida Licensed Senior Tax Accountant will manage tax compliance processes, including the preparation and timely filing of returns for Florida and Puerto Rico, while also handling accounting and reconciliation of tax liability accounts remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of tax compliance processes, including preparation of workpapers and timely filing of various tax returns
• Account for and reconcile tax liability accounts for sales and use tax and income tax withholding on a monthly basis
• Prepare additional returns and supporting workpapers as assigned, and assist in maintaining tax filing software

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree with four years of experience in an Accounting/Tax related position; Master's Degree in Accounting and/or CPA preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and Access, with the ability to work in Word
• Strong workpaper skills and familiarity with fund and/or not-for-profit accounting principles
• Knowledge of tax accounting rules and regulations for non-profits
• Ability to analyze and apply annual changes in tax reporting to the university's tax compliance process
