Job Summary

Demonstrating expertise in the sterilization process, the full-time Florida Licensed Sterile Processing Tech will manage the cleaning, decontamination, and distribution of surgical instrument trays while ensuring adherence to infection control standards in an onsite environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the sterilization of surgical instrumentation and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
• Maintain accurate records and monitor sterilization processes through chemical, mechanical, and biological methods
• Participate in training and orienting new team members while collaborating with the SPD Supervisor on operational activities

Required qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Completion of the SPD Readiness Course or national certification through HSPA or CBSPD within the first year
• Minimum of one year of experience in sterile processing or nine months with certification
• Ability to maintain required continuing education units (CEUs) in accordance with certifying body
