Job Summary
To support a growing team, the full-time Florida Licensed Title Examiner will examine public records and provide title opinions while working remotely, ensuring accurate title commitments and assessing risks associated with title issues.
Key responsibilities
- Search public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of residential subdivisions and some metes and bounds properties
- Analyze various documents such as deeds and mortgages to identify title issues and make appropriate requirements to clear titles
- Explain the chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to managers and underwriters while participating in special projects as assigned
Required qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five years of industry experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Florida probate and foreclosure processes
- Familiarity with title searching software, such as DataTrace or TitlePoint
- Knowledge of real estate law and title and escrow curative procedures
- Experience in title examination specifically within Florida
