Job Summary
To support the collection of unpaid charged-off loans, the full-time Recovery Litigation Assistant will perform administrative tasks, determine appropriate actions to protect assets, and attend trials and hearings in a hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Review correspondence and pleadings related to charge-off accounts and determine appropriate actions
- Prepare documentation for litigation referrals and attend trials, mediations, and hearings as needed
- Negotiate payment arrangements and monitor the status of recovery accounts while maintaining communication with collection agencies and attorneys
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in first or second-party collections
- Experience with legal and court processes
- Knowledge of Florida repossession laws, litigation procedures, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
- Understanding of credit union products, services, and policies
