Job Summary
Supporting the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program remotely, the full-time FOIA Disclosure Specialist will manage the review, analysis, redaction, and release of responsive records while ensuring compliance with applicable statutes and regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Review and process FOIA requests, including determining appropriate actions and response times
- Redact records in accordance with FOIA regulations and prepare documents for disclosure-based litigation
- Draft correspondence and communicate with requesters and stakeholders to clarify requests and provide updates
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Health, Regulatory, Information Science, Legal Studies, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with FOIA requests, information disclosure, or records management
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and electronic redaction tools
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating and determining release/redaction actions
- Able to obtain and maintain a client-specific public trust clearance
