Job Summary

Food Reporter will work full-time, focusing on the South Bay food scene by reporting on restaurant openings, closures, and trends, while collaborating with various teams to enhance audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Report and write 2-3 stories weekly about the South Bay food scene
• Develop sources and pitch original story ideas through social media and public records
• Collaborate with video and audience teams to create food videos for social media platforms

Required Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in a daily newspaper, magazine, or web publication as a reporter or editor
• Demonstrated expertise in reporting and writing with strong news judgment
• Ability to respond quickly to breaking news and manage multiple projects
• Interest in business reporting and a passion for the food and restaurant beat
• Experience collaborating with various newsroom teams in a fast-paced environment
