Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Job Summary

Embedded within client operations, the full-time Forward Deployed AI Engineer will take on roles such as underwriter or analyst to understand business processes, rebuild functions from first principles, and deliver production-level GenAI/LLM systems using AWS technologies in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Spend initial weeks performing the operator's job to gain insights into business functions before developing solutions
• Collaborate closely with clients to identify operational problems and implement tailored AI solutions
• Utilize strong engineering fundamentals to deliver cloud-native applications and evaluate non-deterministic systems effectively

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on production code
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, with a solid understanding of cloud-native delivery on AWS
• Experience shipping GenAI/LLM systems to production and building evaluation suites for non-deterministic systems
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and navigate ambiguous project requirements
• Strong foundations in AI/ML, with an understanding of model failure modes and operational realities
