Forward Deployed Data Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the delivery of AI-automated data platform migration projects, the full-time remote Forward Deployed Data Engineer will manage multiple concurrent projects, serve as the primary customer contact, and leverage proprietary AI tooling to ensure timely execution and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage 1-4 concurrent migration projects from scoping to customer handoff
• Act as the primary customer liaison, conducting weekly check-ins and managing stakeholder expectations
• Configure Datafold's Migration Agent and collaborate with the engineering team for migration execution

Required qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in data consulting, professional services, or a customer-facing data engineering role
• Strong understanding of the modern data stack, including dbt, Snowflake, and Databricks
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in both executive and technical settings
• Demonstrated ownership mentality with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Experience with legacy data stacks and data platform migration projects is a plus
