Forward Deployed Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely as a long-term independent contractor, the full-time Forward Deployed Engineer will engage with clients to design, build, and implement production AI systems, focusing on robust data infrastructure and ETL/ELT pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to translate business problems into production AI systems and build the necessary data infrastructure
• Develop and integrate AI components into existing client systems, ensuring quality and performance through evaluation suites and guardrails
• Conduct rapid prototyping sprints to deliver demo-able applications, iterating toward production-ready solutions

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1 year in AI/ML or LLM-based production features
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Java
• Hands-on experience with modern LLM APIs and data engineering tools like dbt, Airflow, or Snowflake
• Solid understanding of RAG patterns and experience with vector stores
• Proficiency in a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and experience in deploying containerized services
