Forward Deployed Engineer

Job Summary

As the first Forward Deployed Engineer in a full-time remote role, the successful candidate will lead technical discovery, design proof-of-value engagements, and guide database migrations while collaborating closely with Sales and customers to ensure successful adoption of Xata's solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions with customers to understand their needs and objectives
• Design and execute proof-of-value engagements that demonstrate Xata's capabilities using real customer data
• Guide and facilitate database migrations onto Xata, creating necessary tools and assets for smooth transitions

Required qualifications

• Strong hands-on engineering experience with databases, SQL, APIs, and distributed systems
• Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders
• Experience in problem-solving across various technical domains including full-stack and infrastructure
• Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and taking ownership of projects from inception to delivery
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, asynchronous environment
