Forward Deployed Research Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Staff+ Forward Deployed Research Engineer with extensive expertise in search and recommendation modeling, who will design, develop, and scale innovative ranking and retrieval systems to enhance personalized discovery platforms for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy production models by designing, building, and implementing ranking and recommendation systems that optimize business conversion and engagement
• Engineer end-to-end ranking pipelines and low-latency model serving infrastructure to support high-performance applications
• Provide high-touch deployment support to ensure seamless integration with client data ecosystems and business logic

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an ML Engineer, Applied Scientist, or Forward Deployed Engineer with a focus on deep learning for search or recommendation systems
• Deep proficiency in PyTorch, machine learning algorithms, and multi-stage scoring models
• Hands-on experience designing and optimizing large-scale data pipelines using Spark, Airflow, and dbt in cloud environments
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Airflow, Terraform, and cloud platforms like AWS and GCP for scalable model deployment
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to tackle complex systems challenges
