Forward Deployed Software Engineer

Job Summary

To accelerate AI transformation within engineering teams, the remote Forward Deployed Software Engineer will embed with product development teams to diagnose software development friction, design and deploy AI-powered tooling, and drive process improvements while acting as both a builder and internal consultant.

Key responsibilities

• Embed with engineering teams to observe and map their software development lifecycle, identifying bottlenecks and inconsistent practices
• Design and prototype AI tooling that directly addresses identified friction points and partner with engineering leads to redesign processes
• Act as a technical evangelist and trainer, running workshops to build AI fluency across engineering teams while producing clear documentation for broader adoption

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including roles in architecture or technical leadership
• Demonstrated ability to design and build production-grade software across the full stack
• Direct experience integrating AI/LLM tooling into real engineering workflows
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to analyze and improve a team's SDLC end-to-end
• Experience driving process or tooling change across engineering teams through influence and communication
