Forward Deployed Software Engineer

Job Summary

To accelerate AI transformation within engineering teams, the contract Forward Deployed Software Engineer will work remotely to diagnose software development friction points and deliver AI-powered tooling and process improvements, while engaging in hands-on engineering, process analysis, and change management.

Key responsibilities

• Embed with engineering teams to observe and map their software development lifecycle, identifying bottlenecks and manual toil
• Design, prototype, and implement AI tooling that addresses identified friction points and enhances workflows
• Act as a technical evangelist, running workshops and training sessions to build AI fluency across engineering teams

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including architecture or technical leadership roles
• Direct experience integrating AI/LLM tooling into engineering workflows
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to analyze and improve a team's SDLC end-to-end
• Experience driving process or tooling change across engineering teams
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to switch between technical work and stakeholder-facing consulting
