Foundation Relations Associate

Job Summary

Collaborating with the Director of Foundation Relations, the full-time salaried Foundation Relations Associate will manage a portfolio of foundation donors, focusing on prospecting, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation, while primarily working onsite in Washington, D.C., or potentially remotely for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 30 foundation donors through all phases of the relationship cycle, from identification to stewardship
• Lead the writing and editing of grant proposals and reports, coordinating with various teams to ensure accuracy and alignment
• Conduct research to identify and qualify prospects, ensuring appropriate stewardship and recognition for grants received

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, with 2-3 years of relevant work experience in development or fundraising
• Demonstrated ability to build sustainable relationships for fundraising purposes
• Strong knowledge of industry trends and best practices, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Experience with Raisers Edge or similar donor management software is preferred
• Proven interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues
