Founding Data Engineer

Job Summary

Building the data backbone of a cutting-edge platform, the full-time Founding Data Engineer will design, implement, and maintain scalable data systems and workflows while working remotely in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines for the core platform
• Build and operate production-grade data systems using PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, AWS, and Python
• Collaborate with backend, AI, and product teams to enhance data-driven capabilities and platform features

Required qualifications

• Strong experience in data engineering or backend/data platform engineering in production environments
• Proficiency in Python, with additional experience in Typescript being a plus
• Deep hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including advanced SQL and schema design
• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, focusing on indexing strategy and search performance
• Familiarity with AWS data services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, and Kinesis
