Fractional Chief Technology Officer

Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on Fractional Chief Technology Officer to commit approximately 20 hours per week in a remote capacity, responsible for owning the technical strategy and execution for scaling an online education platform, including managing the technical roadmap, writing and reviewing code, and overseeing multiple engineering functions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for LMS, e-commerce, and corporate account systems, aligning engineering priorities with business goals
• Write and review code while leading and scaling engineering functions such as backend, frontend, QA, and DevOps
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring performance, security, and cost efficiency

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in a senior technical leadership role
• Proven experience scaling e-commerce, subscription, or LMS platforms, preferably in EdTech
• Strong hands-on expertise with Laravel/PHP architecture and modern web application development
• Experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure management, including deployment and scaling
• Proven track record running A/B testing programs and improving conversion rates through analytics
