Fractional General Counsel

Job Summary

To support a rapidly growing multi-state law firm, the remote Fractional General Counsel will serve as a strategic legal advisor to executive leadership, overseeing legal and regulatory aspects of business operations, including multi-state expansion, employment compliance, and corporate governance on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on strategic expansion into new states and manage state compliance requirements
• Draft and maintain employee handbooks while providing guidance on multi-state employment law issues
• Develop internal compliance policies and conduct legal risk assessments for executive leadership

Required Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with an active bar license in good standing
• 7+ years of corporate, employment, compliance, or general counsel experience
• Experience supporting multi-state business operations, particularly in New York, Ohio, Florida, and Massachusetts
• Prior experience as in-house, outside, or fractional General Counsel
• Strong executive presence and business judgment
