Job Summary
To support a rapidly growing multi-state law firm, the remote Fractional General Counsel will serve as a strategic legal advisor to executive leadership, overseeing legal and regulatory aspects of business operations, multi-state expansion, and compliance initiatives on a contract basis.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on strategic expansion into new states and manage compliance requirements
- Draft and maintain employee handbooks and develop HR policies for multi-state employment law
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, coordinating with outside counsel and supporting strategic projects
Required qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school with an active bar license in good standing
- 7+ years of experience in corporate, employment, compliance, or general counsel roles
- Experience supporting multi-state business operations, particularly in New York, Ohio, Florida, and Massachusetts
- Prior experience as in-house, outside, or fractional General Counsel
- Strong executive presence and business judgment
