Job Summary
To support a growing multi-state law firm, the part-time Fractional General Counsel will serve as a strategic legal advisor to executive leadership, overseeing legal and regulatory aspects of business operations, including multi-state expansion and compliance, in a remote independent contractor role.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on strategic expansion into new states and manage state compliance requirements
- Draft and maintain employee handbooks while advising on multi-state employment law issues
- Develop internal compliance policies and conduct legal risk assessments for the organization
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school with an active bar license in good standing
- 7+ years of experience in corporate, employment, compliance, or general counsel roles
- Experience supporting multi-state business operations, particularly in New York, Ohio, Florida, and Massachusetts
- Background working with executive leadership teams in a legal advisory capacity
- Experience in managing business and compliance matters is strongly preferred
