Fractional Healthcare Counsel

Job Summary

To support the rapid growth of the B2B line of business, the part-time Fractional Healthcare Counsel will serve as an embedded legal partner advising the B2B commercial team on healthcare regulatory matters, drafting and negotiating contracts, and ensuring HIPAA compliance, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the B2B team on healthcare-related deals, product launches, and operational questions
• Draft, review, and negotiate various B2B contracts, including master services agreements and data use agreements
• Lead HIPAA compliance efforts, including structuring Business Associate Agreements and advising on PHI use cases

Required qualifications

• J.D. and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Minimum 5 years of post-J.D. experience focused on healthcare regulatory and transactional matters
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills in a commercial context
• Expertise in HIPAA/HITECH regulations and experience with BAAs
• Familiarity with Medicare Advantage supplemental benefits and Medicaid managed care frameworks
