Job Summary

Seeking a Freelance Copy Editor, this temporary remote position will focus on writing and editing headlines, updating content for FS1, FS2, and FOX Broadcasting Company, while monitoring daily sports scores and news under tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Newsgathering, fact-checking, headline writing, and copy editing under intense minute-by-minute deadline conditions
• Monitor the sports calendar and live events to ensure timely news and scores are presented in the Ticker
• Write alerts for breaking news and manage promotional graphics for the Ticker schedule

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of editorial experience, preferably in online or TV media
• Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and online publishing tools
• Proven sports knowledge, including understanding of various sports beyond the major leagues
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
