Job Summary
Seeking a Freelance Copy Editor for a temporary remote position, responsible for writing and editing headlines, updating content for FS1, FS2, and FOX Broadcasting Company, and monitoring daily sports news and scores under tight deadlines.
Key responsibilities
- Newsgathering, fact-checking, headline writing, and copy editing under intense minute-by-minute deadline conditions
- Monitor live events and the sports calendar to ensure timely news and scores are presented in the Ticker
- Ensure all Ticker content is well-researched, grammatically correct, and adheres to the department's editorial style
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of editorial experience, preferably in online or TV media
- Proficient with Content Management Systems (CMS) and online publishing tools
- Strong understanding of sports beyond the four major pro leagues
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize under tight deadlines
