Freelance Court Interpreter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Freelance Court Interpreter to support interpretation needs in immigration courts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between target language and English
• Perform in-person, over-the-phone, and video remote interpreting for limited English proficiency individuals
• Conduct sight translation and quality control review of translated documents as required

Required Qualifications

• Legal ability to work in the U.S
• Minimum one year of experience in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting, preferably in a judicial environment
• Highly proficient in both English and target language vocabularies, including legal terminology
• Familiarity with the U.S. Immigration System
• Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to manage various language registers and colloquialisms
