Freelance Data Researcher

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Freelance Data Reporter / Researcher to support data-driven journalism efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract structured data from PDFs and develop scrapers for public websites
• Standardize and clean large datasets, and build visual data tools for editorial teams
• Support editorial staff by translating raw data into usable insights and automate repetitive tasks

Required Qualifications

• Proficient in Python, particularly with Pandas, NumPy, and Requests
• Experienced in web scraping, PDF parsing, and API integration
• Comfortable with Google Sheets and workflow tools
• Familiar with geospatial data and knowledge of Git/GitHub
• Background in real estate or investigative journalism is a plus
