Freelance Packaging Designer

Job Summary

To support a premier leader in the spirits and beverage industry, the part-time Freelance Packaging Designer will design primary and secondary packaging labels, develop layouts for promotional materials, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while working remotely with occasional on-site press checks in Cincinnati, OH.

Key responsibilities

• Design primary packaging labels and develop layouts for secondary packaging for various spirit brands
• Translate creative briefs into compliant, print-ready assets and prepare design files for government approval
• Collaborate with internal teams and production partners to maintain design integrity and manage multiple projects

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of brand and packaging design experience, preferably in the spirits, beverage, or CPG industry
• Strong portfolio showcasing packaging design work and a clear explanation of design roles
• Deep technical knowledge of production processes, including prepress and color management
• Understanding of regulatory standards for spirits packaging and compliance preparation
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong collaboration skills
