Job Summary

Freelance Reporter, responsible for producing local news, politics, and lifestyle content for audiences in South Texas, working approximately 25 hours per week as a contractor.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 5-8 web stories per week, including original reporting and curated content
• Produce 2-4 pieces of social content weekly to support web stories and newsletters
• Create content aimed at driving audience growth and newsletter subscriptions across various platforms

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of audience-centered local reporting experience
• Strong understanding of the Rio Grande Valley and its culture
• Experience covering local politics, policy, or government
• Proficiency in creating web and social media content
• Comfortable appearing on camera and creating video content
