Job Summary

Working remotely on weekends, the Freelance Social Media Editor will execute the voice of Complex Pop Culture across social platforms, create and curate content, and manage community engagement while focusing on streaming and creator culture.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and manage the voice of Complex Pop Culture on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok
• Create and curate content, focusing on viral trends and community management
• Track social media best practices and provide strategic insights to enhance engagement and growth

Required qualifications

• 2-3 years of social media and editorial experience with a publisher or brand
• Extensive knowledge of internet and pop culture, particularly in film/TV, anime, and video games
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Premiere) and mobile editing software like CapCut
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and proven ability to drive audience engagement
• Willingness to work nights and occasional holidays for live event coverage
