Freelance Social Media Specialist

Job Summary

Providing weekend coverage, the Freelance Social Media Specialist will manage and engage with Newsweek's social media channels remotely for a three-month assignment, ensuring timely content delivery and audience interaction from 8:00 am ET to 7:00 pm ET on Saturdays and Sundays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Post and manage content across various social media platforms while collaborating with the editorial team
• Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments to foster community interaction
• Track content performance and provide insights to enhance weekend social media strategy

Required Qualifications:

• Prior experience managing social media accounts for a brand, publication, or organization
• Strong understanding of social platforms, trends, and best practices
• Ability to work independently and make quick editorial judgments
• Weekend availability is required
• Must be based in the U.S. for this remote position
