Freelance Technical Lead

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Technical Lead (Freelance) to support a fast-moving web build leveraging Wagtail CMS.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead backend development for Wagtail CMS implementation, ensuring scalable and maintainable architecture
• Customize and extend Wagtail internals, including render logic and admin configurations
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to enable complex UI patterns through custom Blocks and templates

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with Python and Django, with deep expertise in Wagtail CMS
• Proven ability to work within Wagtail internals, including custom Blocks and StreamFields
• Experience deploying and maintaining Wagtail projects on Google Cloud Platform
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, CMS modeling, and API design
• Ability to provide technical leadership and unblock teams in a short-term engagement
