Front-End Web Designer/Developer
Job Summary
To support a small, collaborative web team, the temporary Front-End Web Designer/Developer will refresh high-priority web pages and design new templates for three academic schools, working remotely and focusing on both visual design and front-end development.
Key responsibilities
- Refresh and modernize high-priority web pages with a focus on visual design, usability, and user experience
- Design and produce templates and landing pages for three new academic schools, developing an overarching adaptable framework
- Translate designs into clean, well-structured HTML and CSS for implementation within the client's CMS, collaborating closely with back-end developers
Required qualifications
- A strong portfolio demonstrating website and digital design work
- Hands-on proficiency with HTML and CSS, producing clean, semantic front-end code
- Experience designing for and working within Content Management Systems (CMS), with a preference for BigTree CMS
- Strong visual design skills with excellent judgment around layout, typography, usability, and interaction
- Ability to collaborate effectively with back-end developers and communicate technical considerations involved in design implementation
