Frontend Engineer React Native

Job Summary

Seeking a contract-to-hire Frontend Engineer React Native, the remote position will focus on developing and maintaining a mobile app using Expo and JSI, managing native module integration, and resolving performance issues while leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain features in the Expo/React Native app, including UI and native module integration
• Write and debug JSI/TurboModule and native module code for iOS/Android, addressing issues beyond Expo's managed APIs
• Collaborate with backend engineers and designers on mobile-facing contracts and UI patterns, ensuring seamless integration

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of professional React Native experience, including apps built or ejected from Expo
• Hands-on experience with JSI, TurboModules, and writing native modules in Swift/Objective-C and Kotlin/Java
• Strong TypeScript and React fundamentals with debugging capabilities across the JS/native boundary
• Experience with push notifications, deep linking, and background task handling on iOS and Android
• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD processes and app store release workflows
