Job Summary
A company is looking for a Fuel Handling Mechanical Design Engineer for a long-term remote contract opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of nuclear fuel handling equipment and components from initial requirements to final design completion
- Provide engineering support for fuel handling systems, ensuring effective solutions are developed
- Generate and maintain critical design documentation and support licensing activities related to Safety Analysis Reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
- 5-15 years of direct experience in mechanical systems design, especially in nuclear fuel handling environments
- Proficiency in ASME BPVC, Section III, Division 1 and/or Section VIII, and remote tooling design
- Proven ability to coordinate and lead design efforts with minimal direction
- Familiarity with quality standards applicable to design activities, such as ASME NQA-1
