Functional Business Analyst

Job Summary

Supporting a major AI modernization initiative within the Department of Veterans Affairs, the remote Functional Business Analyst will analyze and reverse-engineer business requirements from existing healthcare systems, conduct stakeholder engagement, and translate current-state functionality into actionable technical and functional requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements from the VistA/MUMPS Prosthetics module to identify opportunities for modernization
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and workflow analyses, translating business needs into user stories, process flows, and requirements documentation
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions while supporting Agile delivery activities

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise IT or healthcare modernization programs
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and requirements management processes
• Functional understanding of VA VistA and the Prosthetics module, including workflows related to ordering and procurement
• Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions and translating business needs into technical solutions
