Job Summary
Joining a dynamic team, the full-time Functional Safety Engineer will support the safety assurance process for autonomous robotic vehicles by identifying hazards, defining safety requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, with options for remote work available.
Key responsibilities
- Identify hazards and risks using Systems Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA) to ensure vehicle safety and reliability
- Support the definition of safety requirements and implement measures throughout the product development lifecycle
- Conduct safety analyses such as FMEA, FTA, and STPA to identify potential failure modes and mitigation strategies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related field
- 8-12 years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in robotics, automotive, or heavy machinery industries
- Relevant certifications such as CFSE, CFSP, AFSP, or similar credentials are highly preferred
- Proficient understanding of functional safety standards and safety lifecycle processes
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
