Furniture Technical Design Consultant

Job Summary

To support a major global retailer's Product Development team, the remote Furniture Technical Design Consultant will establish blueprint standards, define product specifications, and guide cross-functional teams while working on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Translate design concepts into detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and comprehensive spec sheets
• Create and implement standard operating procedures and quality standards for the internal team
• Oversee the prototype review process, identifying structural flaws and providing actionable feedback to factories

Required qualifications

• 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in furniture engineering, technical design, or product development
• Proven track record with both case goods and upholstered furniture
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, or Fusion 360
• Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing processes and global sourcing
