Job Summary

Seeking expert Galician Audio Transcribers for a remote, part-time opportunity to transcribe audio recordings of native speakers into precise written transcripts, applying expert linguistic judgment and adhering to project-specific style guides.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text following project-specific guidelines
• Make principled orthographic decisions for dialectal, colloquial, and code-switched speech
• Engage with QA reviewers on edge cases and ensure quality through self-review before delivery

Required qualifications

• Native fluency in Galician with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Galicia
• Mastery of Galician orthography per the Real Academia Galega guidelines
• At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, or linguistic annotation experience
• Ability to distinguish Galician from Portuguese and Spanish in mixed audio
• Comfortable with web-based annotation platforms and variable-speed audio playback
