Gastroenterology Coder

Job Summary

Working remotely on a temporary basis, the Gastroenterology Coder will accurately assign ICD-10 and CPT codes, resolve coding-related issues, and ensure compliance with coding standards to optimize revenue capture for healthcare providers.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately assign and sequence ICD-10 and CPT codes along with applicable modifiers
• Contact clients regarding inadequate or unclear medical documentation for coding purposes
• Monitor regulatory and payer changes affecting diagnostic and procedure coding

Required qualifications

• Active coding credentials such as CPC, COC, or CCS-P
• 3+ years of experience in gastroenterology physician coding
• Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M guidelines
• Ability to work independently in a remote, metric-driven environment
