GEF Project Design Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a GEF Project Design Specialist for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in the identification and design of natural resource/environmental project proposals
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to assist in formulating natural resource and environmental management projects for GEF financing
• Prepare full project documentation and ensure quality control of GEF project concepts and documents

Required Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in natural resources management, international relations, social or environmental sciences, or equivalent
• At least five years of relevant experience in GEF project design related to biodiversity, climate change, or sustainable management
• Working knowledge of English and Spanish
• Experience with GEF and other environmental funds' procedures
• Experience in project design in the Latin America and the Caribbean region is desirable
