GEF Technical Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a GEF Technical Specialist (Europe and Central Asia).

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategic programming of GEF work and coordinate GEF teamwork for the region
• Assist in the management and monitoring of the FAO-GEF portfolio, making recommendations for project improvements
• Participate in capacity development activities for technical staff regarding GEF strategies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in natural resources management, biological sciences, agriculture, or related field; bachelor's degree requires two additional years of experience
• One year of relevant experience in designing and implementing programming at the intersection of agrifood systems and the environment
• Working knowledge of English and Russian
• Experience in mobilizing resources and building a portfolio of GEF projects
• Knowledge of GEF or other environmental fund procedures is desirable
