Gender Equality and Health Equity Consultant

Job Summary

To support the Closing the Gaps in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Project, the full-time remote Gender Equality and Health Equity Consultant will provide guidance on gender equality and health equity mainstreaming, develop work plans, and participate in capacity-building activities across six priority countries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a work plan to enhance gender equality and health equity at the country level, based on project analysis and strategies
• Provide feedback on annual work plans and participate in monitoring exercises for project progress
• Build capacity among PAHO country office staff and partners on gender responsiveness and health equity themes

Required qualifications

• Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in public/international health, social sciences, or gender studies
• 9-11 years of experience in gender equality, health equity analysis, and advocacy in Latin America and the Caribbean
• Demonstrated experience in integrating gender equality and cultural diversity in project activities
• Experience in international organizations and leading workshops on gender and health equity topics
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish
