Job Summary
To support gender mainstreaming efforts, the part-time Gender Specialist will operationalize the gender stocktaking exercise action plan, coordinate training for staff, and contribute to gender-sensitive reporting while working remotely for up to 11 months.
Key responsibilities
- Review and inform gender priorities in FAO's Country Programming Framework based on existing policies and assessments
- Coordinate the implementation of the gender stocktaking exercise action plan and monitor key gender outcomes
- Conduct assessments to identify staff capacity needs on gender and provide necessary training and resources
Required qualifications
- Advanced university degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights, or a related field; a bachelor's degree requires two additional years of relevant experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in gender equality and women's empowerment programming
- Working knowledge of English (Level C)
- Experience in conducting gender assessments and integrating gender-responsive approaches into projects
- Ability to develop gender action plans and deliver training on gender mainstreaming
