General Counsel (State Licensed)

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time General Counsel (State Licensed) to own the legal function at an enterprise level, set IP and risk strategy, and manage a growing legal team while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own Convergent's legal strategy and advise leadership on significant legal and regulatory decisions
• Lead IP strategy and governance, ensuring effective management of patent counsel and licensing decisions
• Manage and develop the legal team, establishing clear roles and operational cohesion

Required qualifications

• J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state, with 10+ years of experience in corporate or commercial law
• Experience in nonprofit or research sectors, with knowledge of 501(c)(3) compliance
• Proven ability to manage outside counsel relationships and optimize legal spend
• Strong understanding of international regulations, including GDPR and anti-bribery statutes
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with a focus on relationship-building and team development
